Grosvenor Arch is part of the new Escalante National Monument in southern Utah. It is about midpoint between Bryce Canyon and Hwy. 89 on an unpaved backroad called Cottonwood Canyon Road. This road is 46 miles of mostly washboard and most of the time you are traveling at 5 to 10 miles an hour. It seems like someone planned it so that you must take your time and experience the constantly changing landscape, which has an amazing array of colors, unusual formations, and a variety of wildflowers (in the spring). It is a very isolated road but I hope some of you adventuresome souls will try it.
